The Veteran

This morning while I was waiting for the bus a gray haired man walked up to me and asked to use my phone to make a call. I know a lot of people that are bothered by that and don't let strangers use their phone. But it doesn't bother me for whatever reason.
The man carried a duffel bag, and was fairly well kept besides being a bit dirty from living out side. His clothes would probably be nice if washed.
I let him make his call to a number he got off a business card he had pulled out of his wallet. I couldn't help but eavesdrop...
Turned out he was calling the Department of Veterans Services because a young female vet had recently turned up on the streets near him and he was hoping they would be able to talk to her, since his efforts had failed.
He finished his call, solemnly wished me a good day, and walked off.
I sat back down and tried to sketch him as he walked away:

I'm a cat, kitty cat...
